Each year, 4,000 people suffer cardiac arrest in Norway. The 30-day survival rate is only 14%. Dual Defib aims to investigate whether treatment with two defibrillators will increase survival. Several countries around the world already use two defibrillators in the treatment of cardiac arrest. However, the procedure is not initiated until after three failed attempts with a single defibrillator. Is it possible to improve survival rates by using two defibrillators from the first shock?

Treatment with two defibrillators has been used for several years and is considered a safe procedure. Before ambulance personnel can participate in the study, they must complete a training program that covers the procedural safety aspects.
